Discuss how you used your pre-production material in your final production

Was it helpful to you? How?

The pre-production that we did before filming our 9 minute documentary came in very useful during the filming as we had planned what was to be filmed when and where, when filming without pre-production it would be harder as we would not have any plans or notes to speed up the filming process, as we would have to do the planning and notes during filming.

Discuss how you used your storyboards

The storyboards that we produced as a group gave us an understanding into what was to be filmed and information such as location, time management and what shots where to be used during the filming. They also provided us with a on the go plot that allowed us to keep on track with the true meaning of the documentary.

Were your contact sheets useful?

Our contact sheets came in use during the production as they gave us important contact details, although they came in use sometimes, they were the least useful piece of pre- production and gave us only small less important information.

Did you look back over your material list in order to know what was required?

During the filming we looked back over the materials list to make sure that we had all necessary items with us when filming, by preparing the materials list during the pre- production it allowed us to collect together the items that we needed and make sure we knew how to work or use each product.

How did all your research help your final product?

The research that we did in the pre-production work helped us with our final product because it allowed us to be more aware of the subject we were focusing on, the research came in a lot of use during filming when we needed to write scripts and produce voice over production.

Did the scripts help during your final production?

The scripts helped us during final production as our voice overs and videos were clear to understand and we were able to make sure each speech fit perfectly into the sequence with the actors knowing what to say and do.
